The Richmond SD38 Career Programs Office provides students opportunities to explore a variety of career options while still in high school. Whether students decide to pursue college, university or work after high school, these options open doors and allow students to:
- get a head start in a chosen career path while still in high school
- acquire skills relevant to today’s labour market needs
- have flexibility and choice with respect to how, when and where learning takes place
Career Programs has a variety of apprenticeship and pre-apprenticeship pathways to graduation, along with several other dual credit* programs which you can view on the "Our Programs" tab of our website and in our Career Programs Brochure.
Many of our programs include FREE TUITION, and students are able to *earn post-secondary and/or industry credits while still in high school. These credits also count towards a student's high school graduation (are included on their high school graduation transcript.)
Throughout the school year, the Career Programs Office strives to engage students, educators, parents, and the Richmond community to learn more about the skilled trades and other career areas by offering a variety of professional learning opportunities, activities and events - this includes gr.10-11 grade-wide presentation assemblies, where we inform students of these programs. Our office can also facilitate student try-a-trade experiences if available at post-secondary schools.
We invite you to explore our website to learn more about the various career development resources available and give us a call if you have any questions.
