Our 2025 class will be held on Tuesdays from 4:00- 7:00pm at the KPU Richmond Campus.
TUITION and all fees are FREE! No interview required! (Apply and you are accepted.)
FOR NEXT YEAR (2025-2026)...
WHO SHOULD APPLY? STUDENTS WHO:
- Will be in Grade 11 or 12 next school year
- Feel they have any type of barrier to university entry (academically, socio-economically etc.)
- May or may not be on track to graduate or meet university entrance requirements
The STRIVE program supports EVERYONE, and offers built in supports, including an in-class tutor to assist anyone needing help with the course content.
Students take the SOCI 1125 course at the KPU Richmond Campus one night per week from January - April 2026 (Tuesdays from 4-7pm). This is a university transferable course. Students must be available over spring break.
SOCI 1125 – Introduction to Society: Processes and Structures
Students will learn essential concepts, theoretical perspectives, and methods used in the discipline of sociology to analyze social processes and structures. They will explore topics such as culture, socialization, social interaction, social inequalities, and social change. Students will critically examine assumptions people make about social life and will develop informed views on social issues that are important in their own lives and the lives of others in local, national, and global communities.
NOTE: For those currently qualifying for and aiming to go to university, you are encouraged to consider our "LinK38" dual credit program. Applications and course options available in late Spring.
